Pop-Up Power & Pedals for a Cause: Ballymoney Rallies for Macmillan Cancer Support

magazine Apr 09, 2025

This Saturday, Ballymoney is bringing the energy – and it’s all for a brilliant cause. From 11am to 4pm, the chic and community-minded Be Unique by Emma will transform into a buzzing hub of shopping, socialising, and serious fundraising.

Three local businesswomen – Laura from Rosebuds, Cherith from Løttä, and Christy from Wickery Lux Candles are setting up fabulous pop-up stalls inside the store, each brimming with gorgeous goodies and unique finds.

But this isn’t just about bagging beautiful buys – it’s also about making a real difference. Boutique owner Emma McConaghey and her team will be taking on a Miles for Macmillan challenge, as they cycle their hearts out inside the shop to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

And to keep her momentum going? None other than Emma’s husband, former Coleraine FC player Gareth McConaghie, will be on hand cheering her on. Team goals, anyone?

The pop-up event perfectly coincides with Ballymoney’s vibrant Spring Fair, meaning there’s even more to enjoy.

Expect carnival rides, free entertainment, family-friendly games (hello, hook-a-duck), and the return of the much-loved Ballymoney Country Market.

Main Street will be closed to traffic to make way for extra stalls and fun, culminating in a spring-themed carnival parade at 3:30 pm that promises colour, music and community cheer.

So whether you're there to shop small, support Emma's cycling efforts or soak up the carnival atmosphere, one thing’s for sure – Ballymoney is the place to be this Saturday.
